Severe WX April 12-15th, 2018 Severe Potential

I saw on The Weather Channel a classic supercell with a hook headed towards downtown Kansas City. Fortunately, the velocity was not strong on radar.
Yeah that was a concerning look. Thankfully the velocities remained low

Cell SW/W of Foreman, AR went from a little to a lot of rotation in a hurry

I did a radar animation on GR2AE using the data from the radar in Fort Smith, AR, and it's showing that the front squall line is getting rammed from behind by the faster squall line behind it.

I've said we need a radar at or near Greenville MS for years, I wish that was a feasible proposal. One of the worst radar holes around these parts.

Well, guys, it's getting late and I'm feeling tired, so I think I'll stop my monitoring of today's events here. Tomorrow I'll come back and check to see what happened while I was asleep.

You guys have a good night, and hopefully there won't be any deaths from today/tonight's storms!

Edit: Language warning if at work or young ears are nearby

These people drove right into a tornado and got thrown!

What is it with the super close videos today? Am glad nothing has seemed to be particularly violent in the tornadoes on video or we would've probably seen some vehicular fatalities. Has been a relatively significant event but so far it could easily have been much worse.

I want to point out that there was a morning tornado rated EF-1 in Gonzales LA a while back that picked a truck up and threw it over 30 feet in the air and something like 100 yards actually elevated above the ground. The truck actually landed on its tires and the driver was not harmed. There was a very very grainy video of it which is how we know it happened. 90 mph winds when it was rated later that day. It doesn't take a strong-violent tornado to kill you in a vehicle.

I can't tell what's going on in that video. Looks like it was filmed on a Nokia 3310

The stupidity is strong with this one.
The woman seems to understand exactly what's going on and how dangerous that is. Absolutely horrible.

Stupidly asking "is that a tornado?" while continuing to drive right into it and telling your wife/girlfriend to "calm the f**k down" while you drive her into the tornado is a lot less sympathetic.

Totally agree, but I was actually referring to the other video where the idiot filming thought his possible impending death was hilarious.
