Severe WX April 12-15th, 2018 Severe Potential

Yeah those storms just plowed through North AL with ease. We're done up here. Its a central and South AL threat now.

The irony of the situation is that the HRRR which was atrocious yesterday actually got the morning stuff killing the potential here pretty accurately, and this was 13 hours out when it couldn't resolve 2 hours out.

The Tuscaloosa Air Show has been cancelled today per WBRC. Tomorrow’s events will still go on as scheduled.

Mom and I postponed my birthday trip to Chattanooga that was scheduled for today. Although the severe weather threat may be less than originally thought for north Alabama, it would not be fun driving in heavy rain between Huntsville and Chattanooga, especially the windy, twisty part of Interstate 24 west of Chattanooga.
 
Due to the Tornado Warnings in Mississippi and traffic picking up I am re-enabling live mode.
 
Current Active Tornado Warnings, Lowndes MS, Forrest MS, and St. Tammany, LA
 
It will be interesting to see what WAFF in Huntsville does this afternoon should tornado warnings be issued for north Alabama. I say this because the Nashville Preadators playoff game starts at 2 on NBC and the team finally won a division title this year.

In the past they've gone wall to wall per policy but would leave the game up in a box in the corner of the screen, going to full screen weather when the game would go into commercial or intermission.
