In terms of the smoke, once the wreck along the coast that's presently unfolding is done and former Laura gets picked up by the westerlies, I really wonder about the effects of all those extra condensation nuclei, particularly in steep terrain.

Laura is not a Camille, and the atmosphere is different, but I hope there isn't a repeat anywhere of what happened afterward in Virginia in 1969.

This time last week, most of the models except the Euro had us just about to get down to the mid/upper 70s for highs. Fast forward a week, and I have 89-91 in my forecast for the next couple of days. Never believe the "first" fall cold front. This mess is why I don't have hair...

This is awesome, and it did give us stormy weather, but someone turned on the coastal tsunami sirens in one place to warn of high winds. Don't think they'll do that again.
