The Wayne tornado has been rated EF2.
An upgrade to higher probabilities was considered due to the
expectation for warm sector supercells to develop amid favorable
hodographs and a STP of 3-4. However, slightly stronger instability
would have been preferred to initiate an upgrade.
Crazy part is this could have been MUCH worse if not for the cold front...I feel like NTX/OK area overperformed. Seems like the expectation was that storms would grow upscale much faster but many of them remained semi-discrete for quite a while. Hate to see tornadoes blow through populated areas like this…
Definitely had the “feel” of a bad day. It’s never good to walk outside into soup in mid December.Crazy part is this could have been MUCH worse if not for the cold front...
