Somewhere things got mixed up. If a NWS office is tweeting in all caps about a dam failure being imminent, people are going to take that very seriously. I'm glad (it it's true) that the area is being evacuated only for cautionary reasons, but that is giant miscommunication in a period of time where communication needs to be very clear.

Clancy, This is near Keaton Beach. It’s Cedar Island. There’s also, Dark Island, Ezelle, Adams & Dekle Beaches. We had a place in Keaton Beach for 7 years and sold it 2 years ago. Third storm in 18 months. Absolutely awful over there.

My grandma lives near Live Oak. Except for some trees down in her yard, she fared okay in the storm last night. I am very familiar with Perry and Taylor County. Although there is widespread severe structural and tree damage in Perry, thankfully, the early videos I am seeing aren't showing anything catastrophic.
