The mesovortex are ripping in the eyewall. I see velocity bins in the 140mph range with a very large sector of 130mph +. Conditions are rapidly going down hill in Perry, FL!

Mission #18 recon just reported 135 mph dropsonde at the surface. So maybe still strengthening.
Wouldn’t surprise me. I see velocity bins in the 150mph category now with a very large area of 130-140mph.
The eye wall is not open. See the thread further back, the radar can't penetrate the full eye, it's actually fully closed.This thing is crazy strong with the mesovortices and what not. Especially for an open eye wall on radar
Perhaps a bit of both.Not sure if it's just the northeastern side of the eyewall getting closer to radar and that's why the velocities are going up or if it's strengthening.
