Looks to be. 7 to 10 day break , as trough sets up east after this midweek system .You think the rest of April is going to be calm?
Gotcha… the Midwest, plains and south definitely need a break.Looks to be. 7 to 10 day break , as trough sets up east after this midweek system .
My thinking is if we do get a break, it'll be very brief. After that, beyond the 15th, it'll get active again. You think the rest of April is going to be calm?

Sorry Kevin! We'll get a break in May though. LOL!
Hey GA has been fairly lucky so far. I’m not complaining. I am sure my days are numbered though!!!Sorry Kevin! We'll get a break in May though. LOL!
Nature has it out for that part of the country this Spring, eh?But not for long.....
Hopefully at least some of that will be beneficial rainfall as opposed to severe weather considering much of Kansas has been experiencing one of its worst droughts in recent memory, if not on record…But not for long.....
Boy do we need some heavy precip hereBut not for long.....
From South Texas right through the Plains, we are all dealing with drought.Boy do we need some heavy precip here
It was part of the problem since moisture mixed out to an inhibitive degree over several areas (too much dry air around 850 mb), although the biggest issue was the trough hanging back west. The lack of mixing due to mid/upper level cloud cover was an issue south along the dryline. Without that, storms may have formed in OK/TX. Ultimately though, I think this goes a lot differently if the trough had been centered further east and further away from the capping source. Was the ongoing drought the reason for the unexpected (as least as of model runs 5-7 days out) layer of dry air/EML that busted (relatively speaking) yesterday/today's severe threat?
Ummmmmmm what?
