Hurricane Category 4 Hurricane Helene

8PM Advisory. Surge will begin soon for the Big Bend. Very worried about Tally into southern Georgia.

I just don't understand the appeal of chasing in a hurricane. There is nothing to see because you cannot see at all. Just high stress driving for your life with very little (if any) benefit. There is no way chasers can get any useful content out of this.

This storm looks really scary. My brother-in-law is in Tallahassee. He lives about 15 minutes south of town toward Crawfordville. I wish he had left, but he did not he sitting with neighbors.
On the coast, in Carrabelle, we call it Crawthroughville. All the road construction is crazy… Hope he is okay.

I do love webcams for hurricanes. Of course they're susceptible to power outages, but no one has to be in danger for 'em to show me how the situation is changing. I've got one right now that's in Steinhatchee at a restaurant, so the pier is still lit and you can see the rain and a bit of the (river) waves. It'll be interesting to see when the lights go out.

If you watched Brett's footage from Michael, it was unreal, and I was truly afraid for him and his crew (and the family that took them in!)
