Perhaps this thread should be retitled, since mid-next week appears to have solidly trended away from a severe/tornado threat.
I'd just add winter weather/severe. Model trends are too wild lol and it may be a case where both severe and winter weather both happen lol.

Yeah this is why I tend to avoid making threads THIS far out, unless the SPC highlights a day. Other than that the models can (and do) change/flip flop several times.

The Canadian has been the most bullish model so far with the significant ice storm potential. When looking at the 12z run today, it certainly made my eyes wide. Plus the fact that North MS really hasn't had a significant ice storm since the one in 94 by long lasting and high accumulation totals.

12z Canadian. Very nasty look.
Thats enough to shut down cities for weeks almost lol. 3 inches good gosh. Luckily it seems the Canadian is a extreme outlier right now

Freezing rain is arguably one of the most difficult events to predict in weather forecasting. The smallest variation in temp and air layering can have huge impacts.

Main difference between Canadian and GFS/Euro is that the Canadian stalls out the cold front longer and further south.

I hate severe weather, but I’ll take it over ice. I’d prefer snow all day, any day though.
Hate to say it but there's becoming a lot more model agreement on a decent ice threat for the Tennessee valley.

Somebody somewhere is gunna get hammered. in-between Kentucky Arkansas and Tennessee ; Maybe portions of north Mississippi and Alabama is where my guess is. Quite evident that relatively shallow cold air will overspread some areas and create some icey conditions.
Silver lining is daytime heating and arrival may stop it completely lol, we will see not as extreme of a cold blast to overcome daytime heating. Temperatures may stay just above freezing on the ground preventing any serious threat of ice... Only time will tell.
