Honestly, the most impressive tornado of that day was the Moshannon State Forest one, the 2.25 mile wide monster that uprooted around 100,000 trees, traveled for 70 miles and climbed mountains. That said, Niles/Wheatland undoubtedly takes the cake in terms of most extreme damage. Example pics below:

These next two pics are of the 75,000 pound propane tanks being crumpled like soda cans, one of them was actually thrown onto Warren Avenue, blocking rescuers.

Yes, that monster is unbelievable. It is said that seismographs at the University of Pennsylvania responded to this, but only one person was injured in the tornado, which is very lucky. When it comes to Niles Wheatland, I think it's absolutely violent, it's probably the best candidate for the strongest tornado of the 1980s
