A lot of rain this week and then torrential downpours overnight and today have led to some significant flooding in the Richmond area.

Tropical Depression Fred has spawned a damaging tornado a few miles southeast of Greenville, SC. The town of Mauldin appears to have taken a direct hit.

Well this watch was a total bust (didn't even rain here). However, there's a tornado warning for Limestone Co., including Athens.

The text for the second Limestone Co warning said confirmed tornado and heading for Madison Co. Warning ends at 7:15, wonder if HUN will extend it to Madison Co?

James Spann posted on his Facebook page that 10 fatalities have been confirmed from the flash floods in middle Tennessee this morning.

Hopefully it goes without saying that everyone here knows that tornadoes are more than meets the eye. The "wispy" looking clouds could easily lead someone to assume a weak tornado (and not a high end EF3), but that cloud motion is something else.
