As someone that lives in Lowndes County and loves snow, this is painful.

No snow on the Tennessee River in Limestone county. Temp is 37 degrees. It’s snowing above us and below us. It’s funny how a warm river can affect things. When that river is cold we sometimes get more snow than others.

I'm up to 43 from 39. I have no desire for snow so I'm fine with it.

Now down to 41. It's pretty amazing to see snow in virtually all directions surrounding Jefferson County/Birmingham yet only getting a cold rain here. But these cold core lows have always been like this. It's actually incredible to see how well the models have handled this (HRRR has been stellar again). 5-10 years ago they simply wouldn't have resolved these different temperature gradients.

We've dropped to 33. About to take a magnifying glass out and see if I can spot a rogue snowflake falling.

Big snowflakes in northeast Huntsville. Snow is slushy on streets and sticking to ground.

They really all have showed almost this exact solution for the last 24-36 hours. I wanted to believe the dynamic cooling was underdone around Bham, but it has pretty much played out exactly like the models had it.
