35 degrees and a cold rain here in the tippy top of Cherokee county. Y'all pray for us to get some snow because I'm going to have to deal with my very mad wife if we don't.

It has been snowing lightly in Prattville for about an hour. Nothing sticking in town. Temp at 33.3.

No snow on the Tennessee River in Limestone county. Temp is 37 degrees. It’s snowing above us and below us. It’s funny how a warm river can affect things. When that river is cold we sometimes get more snow than others.

Now down to 41. It's pretty amazing to see snow in virtually all directions surrounding Jefferson County/Birmingham yet only getting a cold rain here. But these cold core lows have always been like this. It's actually incredible to see how well the models have handled this (HRRR has been stellar again). 5-10 years ago they simply wouldn't have resolved these different temperature gradients.

They really all have showed almost this exact solution for the last 24-36 hours. I wanted to believe the dynamic cooling was underdone around Bham, but it has pretty much played out exactly like the models had it.
