I found a rather interesting winter weather event from 2016, on 12/15/2016, a lake-snow effect band was ravaging the southwest shore of Lake Ontario. What was unusual about this band was that it was a prolific snow-tornado producer. At least three landfalling snow-spouts struck the area around...

Well it looks like we have a little bit of an interesting storm signal for the region next weekend into early the following week. Models have hung onto the ideal of a coastal low for quite some time, but the Euro is really ratcheting up the threat with some optimal temperatures on the 12z run...

EURO, and many other models show snow falling across the Southeast early next week.

Happy new year everyone! We have a very cold beginning to 2018. A weak vort max over N AL/ S mid TN is giving some of us snow flurries and a light dusting in N AL as far south as Cullman, which should dissipate this afternoon. Elsewhere, high pressure will build over the coming days which...

GFS is taunting us in the long range with a couple systems around Christmas. Of course, the only things that's consistent is the inconsistency ... But nonetheless we can discuss the potential here :cool:

Looks like we'll be kicking off May with a big temperature swing to the cooler side across the southeast. GFS/Euro actually show high elevation snow for West NC by Friday night with the ULL. Fun times ahead no doubt.... :)

Noticed we don't have a general discussion for this month as so far it's all been in the severe threads. WWA out for the TN border counties tonight for a good April snow. North GA mountains might actually see some flurries. With any luck I'll squeek out an inch or two here at the house.
