Hurricane Category 4 Hurricane Helene

Power outages increasing rapidly across southern Georgia. Nearing 100K customers without power.

At a glance, Helene seems to be maintaining much of her fury as she moves north.

"It's a Rainy Night in Georgia!"

Where in Georgia?

Yes.

Waterspout with nasty looking signature inbound to Beaufort, SC.

Missed Tallahassee (mostly) to the east, now if she goes east of Macon and Atlanta, I'll be happy. Not good if you are those people east of those places, but fewer folks impacted.

Low 950s pressures being measured with a mostly clear eye into Georgia is remarkable. Setting a ton of pressure records. It's hard to stress just how bad a wind event this is going to be for the southern Appalachians on top of the catastrophic flooding.

Yeah, I would (selfishly) be quite happy with that since it would keep the right-front quadrant east of my parents.

Is it true that the core of Helene is heading for Augusta?
The core won't necessarily go over Augusta but they're getting the worst of the rain and definitely some strong winds.
