Severe WX Sunday March 3 Severe Threat

I wonder if there has been any violent tornadoes. It has been nearly 2 years since a tornado has been officially rated EF4 in the US. Hearing 4/27/2011 like tornado debris signatures raise my eyebrows. This outbreak has seemed pretty scary.

The Beauregard and Smith Station likely ended that drought. We just have to see if there are any damage indicators that would let it be rated EF4/5.

I remember so many violent sigs that wound up not hitting anything befitting a rating appropriate to their true intensity... not that you'd want them to hit something at EF4/5 intensity of course. I'd still like to see G2G/TDS info as a footnote in final storm surveys for accurate comparisons.

That looks like a TDS near Oconee. KFFC is far away from this cell but has been consistent for about 3 scans. Probably a significant tornado.

this was the tornado that hit Crawford/Peach Cos., GA and produced a second south and east of Macon

That looks...uncomfortably like the 4/27/11 Philadelphia, MS tornado...

There was a likely violent tornado in Red River Parish, LA last April that tracked mostly through swamps and was rated EF2. Demonstrates the problem with the EF scale being damage-only in my opinion.

Peach Co. EMA reports trees downed and outbuildings destroyed but no damage to residences (yet), it missed the major population centers in the county

Ah yeah, I remember that one I think. Or hearing about it. I really hope radar-based measurements are kept and documented so that one day in the future a database can be put together that doesn't rely as much on damage measurements.
