Not even bother to scan it? Man, what a weirdo. There is most definitely a photo of Moshannon, but the woman who has it isn't willing to send it to Locomusic.

You mean Albion? There's a guy whose father shot some video but he didn't want to part with the tape. That was fine, so I offered to pay for it to be digitized.. and he said no. So then I found a library not too far from him where he could take it himself to get it digitized, and.. he never even answered me back. I sent him another email a few days ago but I dunno what his deal is. There's also a guy who lived several miles SW of Albion - he was paralyzed, but he was a Skywarn spotter and he used this video camera mounted to an antenna to scan the skies. Anyway, he caught the tornado right around the time it was rapidly intensifying and apparently the camera was recording. Only problem is he died several years ago and his son said he has no idea where the tape is, assuming he even kept it.Did you find the photo of someone who taped the Kane, Atlantic or Tionesta tornado yet? Not sure which one it was.
Also, any photos or video possibilities of Moshannon State Forest?
So, I heard from a lady a while back who lives in Shelburne, which is basically directly between the Grand Valley and Corbetton damage paths, and she said that she remembered seeing pictures sort of circulating around the community at the time. She wasn't sure which tornado they were from, but considering Corbetton happened way out in the sticks and Grand Valley at least hit/passed a handful of populated places, I'd bet the latter.A big shame.
I also created this list:
The new question is: are there any unverified/claimed photos of Grand Valley, or any actual photos I haven't seen yet, or just no photos at all?
It makes me wonder if people actually even have photos/video when they do that, but then why bother saying it? And they often have a story or other details to go along with it, which seems like a pretty elaborate thing to randomly make up. I dunno. Maybe people just like to make me suffer lolNot even bother to scan it? Man, what a weirdo.

I was curious if anyone knew of any really sources for the tornado that struck Washington DC in 1814 and pretty much won a battle? I only recently discovered the trivia fact and figured you guys are the best place to ask.

Let's stop angsting about photos that just can't be uncovered and start talking about other tornadoes that hit national parks! On Moshannon, there's a woman who said her grandparents took photos and that she has them somewhere, but - stop me if you've heard this before - she still hasn't sent them or even responded to me recently. What a surprise.
It really didn’t help much, all it did was speed up the British leaving Washington DC. The war would later end in a stalemate.List of tornadoes in Washington, D.C. - Wikipedia

There's much debate if it was a hurricane or tornado but it likely helped us win the War of 1812 (albeit indirectly).

There are a couple more here: https://talkweather.com/threads/significant-tornado-events.1276/post-62186Just discovered some colored photos regard to the 1990 Bakersfield tornado.
I believed one mangled car mentioned in extremeplanet belongs to the center pic.
Oh Yes haven't noticed you've posted before, anyway it's extremely violentThere are a couple more here: https://talkweather.com/threads/significant-tornado-events.1276/post-62186

I dunno if this is supposed to be the tornado off to the right here or not - hard to tell because of the poor quality.

I forgot about this one! This thing produced some of the most severe shrubbery damage I’ve seen. Was this in the same area as the more infamous 1990 tornado? The Bakersfield v2.0 in 2009 seems haven't been talked much, this tornado was responsible for debarking cedar and mesquite trees, gravel and larger rocks were scoured from the ground, leaving bare ground.

Incredible news! Very excited to see.So, I finally got one of the Tionesta photos I've been waiting for. It's not much - just a B&W clipping the person's mother saved from a newspaper - but still pretty exciting. It was apparently taken as the tornado was coming up over US 62, but I'm hoping I can dig up more context on it.
I hadn't heard of this one, but it's another good reminder of how many incredibly violent tornadoes go overlooked because they simply happen in remote areas. The Bakersfield v2.0 in 2009 seems haven't been talked much, this tornado was responsible for debarking cedar and mesquite trees, gravel and larger rocks were scoured from the ground, leaving bare ground.
