It's been a huge pain to track down really good photos from the Atlantic F4 - especially from around Atlantic itself - but I've finally got enough that I can dump the poor quality ones. So, here's some general destruction around the outskirts of town:

The Atlantic Feed and Grain Mill was totally wiped out (that's the owner btw):

A few terrible aerial shots:

Pinedale Trailer Court just west of town, where four people were killed (three of them actually died in the obliterated frame home just above the intersection):

The twisted frame of one of the trailers:

And finally a few random shots from about two miles east of Atlantic:

I've seen that Atlantic aerial next to this damage aerial of Wheatland, both pictures appear to show a multivortex damage pattern, with some building obliterated and others standing mostly intact. The Wheatland aerial also shows how complete the destruction to Yourga was; crazy how buildings right next to it are mostly still standing.

Also, speaking of terrible quality aerial shots - Tidioute!

Untitled-2.jpg

Tidioute has been driving me nuts - I've got a few photos and those seem to be like.. the only ones in existence. I found a man who I know has a ton of pictures of Tidioute and many of the other tornadoes, including apparently a bunch of aerial shots, but I haven't been able to get in contact with him yet. Really frustrating.

Something else I've learned recently: I've long suspected the Johnstown, OH F3 was probably stronger than its rating but simply didn't encounter enough structures to officially warrant anything higher. Well, I talked to one guy whose father's farm was in the path and he said the tornado missed the house, barns, etc. but it "chewed up" their soybean fields and left a "muddy streak" he estimated at 100-200 yards wide. Someone else told me something similar, except that they grew wheat IIRC. Another man who participated in an aerial survey for the county said that in places it looked like a "tidal wave had gone through," washing everything away and leaving behind a "muddy residue."

Needless to say, both of those things got my attention.

Oh btw re: Stratton, per @AngelAndHisWx, in that picture I shared before of the vault/tornado combo, the dark mass underneath the mesocyclone is indeed all tornado after correspondence with Greg Stumpf.

I may just make a Reddit account to ask that guy about more material since I'm pretty sure all of us here in addition to a sizable chunk of the met/chaser community wants to see additional pictures of that thing.

Some more Ivanovo damage pictures
Иваново-смерч-повреждение-автомобиля.JPG
Completely obliterated vehicle mangled beyond recognition. The vehicle damage Ivanovo produced is easily some of the most intense ever documented outside of North America perhaps only behind San Justo.

This is the foundation of a masonry home, unfortunately without a vider view I couldn't tell you if it was well-anchored or not.

I don’t think that’s a debarked tree that looks like an uprooted birch tree to me.

This pic below came across to me and showed that even Hackleburg can't do slightest damage to railway with tons of debris in Phil Campbell at undoubtedly EF5 intensity, which makes me further wander how much force It took to do railway damage like Chapman.
