Severe WX Severe Wx Outbreak March 1st- 3rd, 2023 - Southern States, MS/OH/TN Valley

Tornado Watch for KY.

I'm curious about something and a little new to this so sorry if this sounds a little stupid. Is there a reason why Birmingham is in a marginal risk for Tornadoes , but is included in the 70/50 tornado watch?

Extremely high winds along and behind this line, had easy 60mph winds here with tree damage and power out

Not sure the storms will be able to utilize it though, but the HRRR has been less than admirable for this entire event
I'd say main saving grace, especially for Alabama, is the speed of advancement. Storms won't have much time to piddle around, so hopefully it'll spare us from more significant storms.

Also, if we can keep that cloud cover over the ATL metro, it'd limit destabilization to a degree, though whether that happens remains to be seen.

Leading edge a minute before being blasted by damaging 60mph winds
