The slabbed taco bell in Winchester had straight nails and anchor bolts…it wasn’t poorly anchored

Today’s risk went from a tiny slight risk 24 hours ago to a big slight risk covering all of the northern Gulf and an enhanced risk over central Texas.

Winchester rated prelim EF3 per NWS Indianapolis.

Looks like the Lakeview tornado (Logan Co. OH) has been upgraded to EF3 per NWS ILN. Was earlier EF2 in the Orchard Island area via PNS.

Honestly the Taco Bell in Winchester, IN may warrant an EF4 rating. Those anchor bolts are VERY closely spaced. That’s better anchoring than you see in I’d say….90% of structures in the US.

The only thing is that contextual damage isn’t that intense…unless the vortex core was just that narrow. But then again several ef4’s this decade had lesser contextual damage. Most notably Winterset and caviness

I could also see them sticking with EF3 instead though due to a lack of interior walls, which is fair.
