Could be a lot of reasons, likely not having enough confidence in the meso making it to the ground being the prime reason. But in your case I would absolutely be taking shelter in case it does continue to tighten up.

A D3 Enhanced Risk has been issued for parts of LA, MS, AR and AL for an all-hazards threat.

An out-of-the blue enhanced for Day 3 does not give me the warm fuzzies. Not liking the part about "multiple rounds" either.

Just checked parameters in depth for the first time for this timeframe, seen some chatter. Some fairly robust parameters. I'm excited for our first real winter season severe/tornado event.

An out-of-the blue enhanced for Day 3 does not give me the warm fuzzies. Not liking the part about "multiple rounds" either.

Rather surprised by the uptick in depicted threat intensity myself, and December/January systems can be particularly dangerous when they're accompanied by sufficient destabilization.

The National Weather Service in League City has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...
East central Wharton County in southeastern Texas...

* Until 245 PM CST.

* At 214 PM CST, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located over El Campo, moving northeast at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree
damage is likely.

* This dangerous storm will be near...
El Campo and Pierce around 220 PM CST.
Wharton around 225 PM CST.

Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include
Hungerford.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a
mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter
and protect yourself from flying debris.

ME TOO! Hopefully, in the future, they'll do the same thing with the Day 4-8 Outlooks/Discussion. That would really be helpful as well.

Based on the radar, it actually looks like it may go south of where I am. However, those storms out in the Brookshire/Sealy area are making me worried.
