Severe Weather 2024

So basically we flood with a low end severe weather threat Thursday and again possibly Saturday.
 
I'm not as concerned about the severe weather threat as I am about this flash flood threat. I know we're still in a significant drought, but with the potential for training storms and the high PWAT values near 2 inches, these storms will be capable of 2+ per hour rainfall rates. All that to say, it won't take much to cause flooding issues significant at that.

The NAM 3km NEST shows a much more favorable setup for tornadoes in Louisiana on Wednesday. The shorter-range models are coming into focus, so it'll be interesting to see what they say. (I still think Saturday has the bigger threat space.)

Recent runs of the Euro and GFS have increasingly favorable trough ejection and moisture return across parts of the South on Saturday. In addition to this week's heavy rain, this will bear watching as well.

Indeed! Really can't complain. We need the rain. Just not all at once. Hopefully Wednesday won't turn out to be Christmas Day 2015. Saw nearly 9 inches of rain in 24 hours that day. 8.75 inches to be exact. My highest 24 hour rainfall total. Flooding was severe in Monroe County as well as other areas in Northeast MS.
 
Gunna try and go chasing or atleast setup at a area where I can see a long distance if there's anything on Saturday since I'm off work for once on a potential severe event lol. I really wanna see a tornado for once lol it's on my bucket list now my wife does as well.

Seems like the low pressure is slowly getting deeper each day of new runs
