.DISCUSSION...

...SIGNIFICANT AND LIKELY PROTRACTED SEVERE WEATHER OUTBREAK ABOUT
TO UNFOLD ACROSS THE MIDSOUTH....

AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NASHVILLE TN
348 PM CDT TUE APR 26 2011

.SHORT TERM...A TORNADO WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR NORTHWESTERN MIDDLE
TENNESSEE...AND SPC HAS DECLARED THIS A "PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS
SITUATION" WITH ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS FAVORING THE DEVELOPMENT
OF DESTRUCTIVE TORNADOES. THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUE TO DEVELOP ALONG
A SURFACE DEW POINT BOUNDARY EXTENDING FROM SOUTHERN ARKANSAS TO
NORTHWESTERN TENNESSEE...AND WILL MOVE NORTHEAST, WHILE DEVELOPING
EASTWARD.

EXPECT WESTERN TENNESSEE TO REMAIN VULNERABLE INTO THE EARLY
NIGHTTIME HOURS FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS, AND OTHER AREAS COULD
SEE SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOP LATER IN THE NIGHT.

IT STILL LOOKS LIKE A SIGNIFICANT OUTBREAK OF SEVERE WEATHER
DEVELOPING FOR THE MID STATE ON WEDNESDAY, WITH TORNADOES, LARGE
HAIL, DAMAGING STRAIGHT LINE WINDS AND TORRENTIAL DOWNPOURS.

.SHORT TERM...

TODAY LOOKS LIKE THE CALM BEFORE THE STORM...AS ALL INDICATIONS
CONTINUE TO INDICATE THE LIKELIHOOD OF A SIGNIFICANT SEVERE WEATHER
OUTBREAK ACROSS MUCH OF THE SOUTHEAST. THE SEVERE WEATHER THREAT
WILL BEGIN ACROSS OUR NORTHWEST COUNTIES EARLY WEDNESDAY
MORNING...AND WILL SPREAD ACROSS THE MAJORITY OF THE CWA AFTER
MIDDAY ON WEDNESDAY. THE SEVERE WEATHER THREAT WILL THEN TAPER OFF
DURING THE LATE EVENING INTO THE EARLY MORNING HOURS ON THURSDAY
ACROSS OUR EASTERN COUNTIES AS THE FRONT SLIDES EASTWARD.

Almost every storm in central arkansas is starting to take on hook echoes. Even the baby storms.

West and North Memphis to Millington is about to get hit with an absolute monster coming out of Forrest City. May be an hour or so before it gets there, but cant wait to see the camera shots when it does get there, unless it's rain wrapped.

for and E MS and N and central AL tomorrow watching closely the activity to our W it has a true NE component it appears based on radar trends at least right now we may not get that stormy weather forecasted to move our way overnight into the a.m. yes it can still happen........

but leaning to literally a loaded gun pointed over these areas if convection continues to stay away and to our NE....

Is Dave Brown poo-pooing the threat, or is he serious about it?
