Most if not all are elevated.Already have two pretty mean storms in Central Alabama. Wouldn't be surprising to see something happen with one of those.

Looks like could stay down there.CAPE building in southern Miss View attachment 7496
We had moderate rain at 8:17, and now we have peeks of sun.
So looking at the radar over MS and north AL I see quite a bit of convection firing. I would think this would help negate intensity of the afternoon “main event” storms?
really?Last run of CIPS before go time and the top analog is definitely not what you wanna see.
Long day/night ahead.

At the moment, the current thought process is no. Rapid low-level moisture advection will offset this as large-scale ascent works on the mid-levels of the atmosphere. This should maintain severe weather threats will into northern Alabama. However, things can change. So looking at the radar over MS and north AL I see quite a bit of convection firing. Yeaaaaaaaaaah. Ominous analog.Last run of CIPS before go time and the top analog is definitely not what you wanna see.

It makes me wonder if SPC is going to put out a 45% or 60% hatched area for strong to violent tornadoes.Yeaaaaaaaaaah. Ominous analog.
Probably not. It's already clearing and destabilizing in western Mississippi back behind that convection (take a look at the visible satellite screenshot upthread and you'll see what I mean). Will the rain back in MS help us this morning? It looks like we will he covered up for a bit.

That is not good. People in those areas need to take this very seriously.I still feel like this event isn't being taken nearly as seriously as 3/17 by the public. My daughter is a Senior at Samford, and they haven't even announced early dismissal.
