Severe WX March 29-30, 2022 Severe Event

Is the Base Velocity product not working for anyone else using the radar scope app on mobile? It can be helpful in messy/embedded storms like this and the app is saying it isn’t available to me.

Some discrete to semi-discrete cells firing 90 miles or so ahead of the main line (5 pm CST). Don't know if anything can become of them. Is the CAP still holding? The cell approaching Vernon (Al) is beginning to look healthy. The cells to the South are not so healthy atm.

Yeah the cells near GWX are honestly pretty impressive, can see the tops well all the way from HTX radar and has lightning now; I'd assume they're not surface based given a northward motion and with dews in the mid to upper 50s am not sure they will root and become surface based before the line - if they manage to, the wind fields are extremely impressive but they'd be pretty high based

Possible CC drop north of Briensburg, KY.
Briensburg was hit by the EF4 Mayfield beast from last December. It “only” produced EF2 damage there, but I’m sure the locals are having a rough time.

Not much vearing of the winds or cape to work with. I wouldn’t be surprised if they try to rotate but then just lose it.
Not so much now, but they definitely were in the Jackson, MS area. Not sure if we’ll see more as the line pushes east though.

Circulation north of Redwater, MS. Just just TOR warned it, but unfortunately it was there for a few scans prior to the warning.

QLCS tornadoes are tricky to say the least.

I am not Fred, but as you can see, higher Td's are not easily accessible to our south, lots of dry air over the northern GOM...Dothan has a Td of 54. You have to go further south to find 70, plus you have drier air aloft being mixed in counteracting what is advecting from the south...which is not very much.

Gotcha. I replied to Fred's post which is why I had asked him. Thanks Richard! You're definitely a met too!

Rossville, TN circulation is broadening out, but I think it may have briefly touched down near Moscow, TN based on the velocity signature.
