Yep about 25-30kts out of the SE. GFS was forecasting half of that and with the forward speed would’ve nearly negated it. But, pressure is still very low but winds have dropped like a rock on first couple passes.Seems that Delta ran into some stronger than expected shear.
Tiny storms can be much more detrimentally affected by shear than larger ones. Delta’s expansion in the gulf will help mitigate the increasing shear near landfall but ultimately won’t stop it from weakening...just slower.Delta's weakening trend overnight/this morning has been almost as shocking as the way it strengthened yesterday.
