Sty?How about that:
Ragasa is now up to 115 kts (130 mph)
and
Neoguri is up to 120 kts (140 mph)
Both typhoons are now Category 4-equivalent. 10 kts to go for Neoguri and 15 kts to go for Ragasa for both to reach STY intensity.
Super Typhoon. JTWC’s unofficial category of typhoon that begins at 130 kts (150 mph) and has no end right nowSty?
Oh ok thanks.Super Typhoon. JTWC’s unofficial category of typhoon that begins at 130 kts (150 mph) and has no end right now
(highest STY intensity reached is 170 kts (195 mph) by Haiyan 2013, Meranti 2016, Goni 2020 and Surigae 2021)
Ragasa is forecast to go north of the Philippines, but I wouldn’t rule out impacts to the Northern Philippines.Philippines in trouble @Atlantic ?
Not gonna lie. This photo I cropped from Zoom Earth looks like something Wikipedia could use. In fact, if someone here is on Wikipedia, they can use this and cite the satellite that Zoom Earth used for the WPAC.Sunrise over the beast that is Typhoon Neoguri:

And I was just talking about 1997 recently with the believing in signs from the universe thing as well as just recently talking to @Kds86z about the record tying number of super typhoons and record number of Category 5 super typhoons of 1997.The last simultaneous Category 5 Super typhoons was 1997 with Joan and Ivan. If Neoguri and Ragasa both become a category 5 Super Typhoon by tomorrow, it'll be the first time on record of two simultaneous category 5 Super typhoons in the month of September. The only other year that came so close to achieving this was 1961 with Super Typhoons Pamela (becoming a category 5 on Sep.11th) and Nancy (becoming a category 5 on Sep.12th).
But like I said before, i don’t really pay attention much to universal stuff. And I was just talking about 1997 recently with the believing in signs from the universe thing as well as just recently talking to @Kds86z about the record tying number of super typhoons and record number of Category 5 super typhoons of 1997.
Oh yes 1997, those things you shared were nuts. And I was just talking about 1997 recently with the believing in signs from the universe thing as well as just recently talking to @Kds86z about the record tying number of super typhoons and record number of Category 5 super typhoons of 1997.
And we could see duel Category 5 Super Typhoons tomorrow if everything lines up. That would be my first time seeing such a thing.Oh yes 1997, those things you shared were nuts.
