SPC introduced a 15% area along the I-35 corridor on Friday. Not sure we’ll get enough moisture return for the threat to extend as far north as they’ve depicted it. The Euro is a bit more optimistic than the GFS is with it.

Tuesday’s ceiling over the Mississippi River Valley has been inching upward. Slightly more amplified system with sufficient moisture return will probably yield a decent threat over Ark/West Tenn/NW Mississippi. This could inch up into West KY and SE MO as well. Support quickly lifts out and winds veer over a narrowing warm sector further East into AL/GA and Eastern TN.

I just saw this come across facebook. I think with most people having phones that weather sirens are becoming quickly outdated. We should not be reliant on them anyway. We cannot hear them well indoors.

Notice to residents of NE Hartselle and Mountainview area:
The weather alert siren located on Mountainview Drive in NE Hartselle is not working. The parts are on order to repair the siren. However, there is a threat of storms later this evening and tonight. If you live in this area please be aware that the siren would not sound in case of a tornado warning. See below for the forecast for this time period:
National Weather Service - Huntsville, AL
Issued: 8:23 AM CST Tuesday, November 26th, 2019
A line of showers and thunderstorms moving through overnight could produce isolated wind damage or a brief, weak tornado.
OVERVIEW
The Storm Prediction Center has put the Tennessee Valley under a marginal risk for severe thunderstorms overnight tonight. The time frame of concern will be between around midnight to 4 AM. The primary threats will be damaging straight-line winds. An isolated, brief tornado is also possible.
WARNINGS, WATCHES, ADVISORIES
None at this time.
WEATHER IMPACTS
Thunderstorms
MODERATE Confidence Showers and thunderstorms moving through the area between 12 AM and 4 AM.
Damaging Winds and Tornado
LOW Confidence A stronger storm could produce localized damaging winds and/or an isolated, brief tornado.

Going along with JayF's post above this one, the WSFA mets (Montgomery, Al.) posted this morning, "Storms late tonight, can't rule out a brief tornado." So the 'T' word is being bantered about here & there. Will there be enough instability in the Central Alabama atmosphere for a tornado later tonight?

I think anything over in Alabama will really struggle. Just not enough surface based instability. I suspect most of the convection will be elevated.

Wow. The frontal passage in Oklahoma has opened to door to very strong winds. Gusts this afternoon up to 55mph. Apparently they have something out there (midwest) called a 'Jeep Wind Warning'. Don't think we have that particular warning here in Alabama, & surrounding states. Crazy!

Pretty decent rotation on a few cells out in Arkansas and Louisiana.

Potentially significant tornado just struck Star, MS south of Jackson a few minutes ago. Had a very tight couplet, strong TDS, and a 67 dBZ debris ball.

Must have been a spinup as I cannot find any rotation here at 9:45A.

By the way, great holiday graphics, Wes.
Looking a lot more broad now. Power lines reported down east of Clio in Barbour, Co.

Thanks! Thought we deserve a little extra flair.
