Severe WX Sunday March 3 Severe Threat

At least the Fort Gaines and Slocumb TDS'es seem to have ramped back down. But more embedded signatures to come, no doubt.

new warning north of Augusta in Aiken/Edgefield Cos. in SC. it's not that impressive on radar but that's obviously near a big metro area.
I'm actually seeing what may be a subtle TDS with than one near Murphys Estates. Also, I'd be shocked to hear nothing touched down east of Waynesboro. Pretty strong signature there for a while.

EDIT: Definite tornado on the ground north of Augusta.

still nothing confirmed with the storm west of Jesup but it looks pretty rough. it's a long way from the radar though

well if it dropped north and east of Waynesboro it may not be obvious until the survey, that's a very rural area as you go out toward the Savannah River. it looked bad even as it was passing over town though.

Seeing more and more damage videos from Lee County. Regardless of what BMX rates it, it defintiely had violent potential. All the hallmarks are there. Just shocking violence.

I'd be surprised if it wasn't rated EF-4 based on some of the damage photos/videos from twitter honestly. or at least high-end EF-3

Yeah, it didn’t go over a highly populated area like Auburn/Opelika but still produced some extreme damage, reminds me of the forgotten EF-4 Miller’s Ferry Tornado on 3/1/07.

I've seen some meteorologists (e.g. Jeff Frame) tweeting that it looked like EF-4 damage

It's really hard to get EF-4 DI's in rural areas, but the associated damage hallmarks like shredded trees, twisted mangled beams, etc. are definitely there.

Yikes... was afraid of that kind of damage from Talbotton. Did we have any earlier reports? Things seemed eerily silent for a while

So we have two tornadoes that could potentially be rated EF4/high-end EF3. That sounds like it could verify a high risk in my books.
at least. I'll be interested to see what they find in the Marshallville area too. that one was really impressive on radar.

It has been since April 2017 that a EF4 or EF5 tornado struck the USA. Sadly, there is a strong chance that the drought is over, and we will get at least one EF4 or EF5 tornado confirmed by the NWS surveys tomorrow.
