Then this from NWS Jackson, MS Afternoon Discussion:
Wednesday through Sunday...
The upper low will continue to stall around the Mississippi Gulf
Coast on Wednesday continuing to produce healthy rain across the
southeastern portions of the state. Some heavier areas of rain
could make it into central and north central Mississippi, but
again the greatest rainfall will be confined to the southeastern
portions of the area. Rain chances will remain high through
Thursday before a frontal boundary comes through Friday to sweep
out the upper low and the associated moisture. The weekend looks
great with highs in the upper 60s and much drier conditions. the
next chance of rain looks to come early next week as a potentially
more potent system could be on the horizon. This could bring us a
chance of some thunderstorms Monday night into Tuesday.

and for what it's worth.

It's only a matter of time.

Before…..???
Severe weather outbreak and flooding issues. Followed up by snow/ice potential into January/February. To be honest, I would not be surprised if it tried to snow somewhere across the Gulf states during Christmas week. "GASP" He used snow, Gulf States, and Christmas week in the same sentence!

Having said that, snow across the South Christmas Week might be far fetched, but I tend to be hopeful every year.

Oh ok lol

Don’t wish that upon us or speak it into existence. You know how the Deep South acts when it comes to snow lol

Someone might want to start a thread. Spann posted about the possible severe threat for Monday into Tuesday. I think he may just be bored in his hospital bed, but you never know this time of year.

Side note - today was the 34 year anniversary of the Huntsville F4.

2010 had Christmas snow for North Alabama and again the week after. It caused me to get stuck coming home from the Auburn Oregon BCS game. If cold air was in place this week there may have been spots getting snow.

Definitely looks interesting for parts of the South Monday/Tuesday. Interested to see what SPC says tomorrow morning.

I would wait and see what the SPC says tomorrow (or maybe even Friday?). They weren’t confident enough this morning to highlight any areas just yet. I wouldn’t create a thread this far out unless they highlighted 30%

Does not seem to be a robust threat (which is fine by me lol)
