Luckily, relatively uneventful at the house, but there are some nasty winds just above the surface on radar

Warm front and leading edge of the meager surface instability is creeping north but only barely intersecting this bowing segment; glad the warm front wasn't a little faster.

I know it gets said during literally every single southern severe weather event, but Meridian really needs to be a NWS radar site.

Was really cool to see that squall line (I think?) earlier this morning on radar; hopefully not too much damage.

What time is this afternoon's event supposed to start? "Early afternoon" was mentioned but yesterday fired off way earlier than forecasted.

Strong tornado threat NE AL today, semi discrete-discrete mode becoming promising. Strong low level kinematics will be consistent.

CIPS' CWASP puts out an 85% contour tomorrow afternoon over parts of Alabama, and the 80% parameters carry into western GA during the evening. Definitely indicative of a possible sneaky overperformer.

Ugh…I am behind and wondered why I was not getting emails. I was “watching” this thread but did not have the email notification option chosen.

Whenever he's live I usually have him on in the background even if I'm five states over from the actual severe weather. Very soothing voice and makes it known if something serious does ever come up. Great meteorologist and certainly one of the country's best.
