Severe Weather Threat May 20-21, 2025

Like JP said, pretty unique setup, seasonally speaking. Hoping nothing happens, but the environment will be pretty potent for anything that gets going.

And definitely not a PDS sounding showing up on 12z HRRR over Northeast Monroe County with near 3000 SB CAPE with a forecasted CAPE value over 3200.

I'm not sure if this threat will get an upgrade to moderate. But I don't like how high the parameters are, will see how things go, and what the new update looks lik
See a moderate out in mornings update day 1… And any llout flow boundaries get laid down form earlier storms late tonight or early morning….. it’s game on yall

I'm actually rather concerned about tomorrow night. North AL hasn't had a tornado threat like this in a while, and since it's almost June, I'm worried it's going to catch a lot of people by surprise. And, per usual, it's a nocturnal threat, which makes it even worse.
Local mets in HSV have been posting about it since at least Friday or Saturday on FB. That right there is enough to give me pause. Silly me had actually been moving some things out of the storm shelter as I thought we were done. Guess I know what I'll be doing this evening.
