I I am texting with my brother. It just went north of Smithville and it is in Itawamba County causing a lot of damage.

Hope he's okay, that could've been a pretty strong tornado just by the velocity couplet and debris

My brother is on the cell phone with my mom on the east side of Smithville and said it went just north and west of town. It sounds like it has hit in the river bottom land just to the west of town. It is moving up through Itawamba County

Smithville is close to a direct hit. Possibly strong tornado.

Yes unfortunately, JP is a survivor of that very storm.

Tornado just went through the Ethridge, TN area (north of Lawrenceburg). Watched the Tennessee Valley Weather Channel cover it. They caught it briefly on a tower cam as it passed by Etheridge. They're reporting confirmation of damage in that area.

Also seeing what appear to be two circulations NE of that tornado along the line - one near Mt. Pleasant and one near Spring Hill.

IF that cell holds together, IF, it would take that same track through Hackleburg Phil Campbell and eventually Decatur and Tanner. Big IF, but those areas haven't seen much rain if any today.

The Spring Hill cell looks to be trying to tighten up. Keep a close eye on that one!
