SUMMARY...An increasing severe threat is expected into this
afternoon. Multiple tornado watches will likely be needed towards
midday/early afternoon from the northwest Gulf Coast to the

Some awful stuff out of Kankakee and in Northwest Indiana. My prayers to everyone affected by the tornadoes there.

My turn to be under the gun again...just hoping that if/when there is an enhanced upgrade, i ain't in it.

That is just so heartbreaking. Looks to have been really intense. Lots of homes swept away with rowing/granulation evident.

So awful... I saw the TOREs on Twitter.

After seeing the RRFS and HRRR, I'm kinda expecting an upgrade to Level 3 Enhanced with 10% TOR upgrade for parts of Central into North MS and parts of western AL.

I am surprised this was not the case already given the LARGE slight risk. Next update should be issued in an hour.

Per NWS LWX

Weakened convection which wasn`t handled very well by multiple
models is moving across northern portions of the forecast area
this morning. While there is a bit of a gap, additional
convection is located over Ohio, although it`s possible this
largely lifts north of the area. Overall, there are few breaks
in the cloud cover, which could limit heating today, especially
across northern portions of the area. Even with poor
initialization of current conditions, most CAMs are rather
limited in convective coverage this afternoon. So while
mesoscale monitoring will be needed to monitor the constantly
evolving threat, it seems the severe weather threat is either
holding steady or declining at this time.

I'm still nervous to hear about the damage near Wheatfield, IN. I mentioned this before, but I believe around that area was the peak intensity of that tornado, just based off the pictures of the tornado I saw.
In regards to Lake Village, IL, I saw a tweet (that I can't find anymore) locating one of the slabbed homes, and I noticed that the bushes located near the camera in one of the photos is simply reduced to stubs, which is pretty impressive.

I know, same here. I’m still worried about the rural areas that may have been impacted by the Knox, IN tornado was it was approaching peak intensity.

"A supercell developed near Kankakee, IL during the evening of Tuesday, March 10th. There was a sharp gradient in temperatures in northern Indiana and northern Illinois due to a lake breeze coming off of Lake Michigan. This supercell formed in the warm sector and was well south of a warm front anchored near the Indiana-Michigan stateline. Because the supercell was on its own, it was unimpeded and able to tap into a favorable environment. It moved through far northeast Illinois and into northwest Indiana, creating a continuous path of large hail and tornado damage. This supercell then entered our forecast area in Starke County and continued to produce damage through the western portion of the county. The tornado was caught on video by several chasers in the area and prompted a Tornado Emergency to be issued as it moved closer to Knox, IN. This was the 3rd Tornado Emergency issued by NWS Northern Indiana and the first since one was issued on May 7, 2024 for Union City, MI in Branch County."
