85 mph winds perhaps being scanned by radar. This is a very nasty surge atp, very significant damaging winds may be ongoing.

Looking more like a vicious damaging wind surge at the minute to me, the circulation keeps tightening then broadening

Just got off the field and catching up on everything, I see we’re under a severe watch here. Line as a whole looks like it’s starting to tighten up as it approaches the AL state line - opposite of what usually happens. Severe warnings out to the state line now

Warnings out into GA as I was typing. Storm south of Hueytown looks like it might be trying to do something here
We might have some issues for the western subbarbs of bham soon.
Tight couplet near Birmingham. Needs a tornado warning asap!

Large swath of damaging winds with little couplets spinning alongside it, very similar to a bookend vortex, this little signature needs to be watched

It was trying to tighten up, but broadened back out on the last scan.
No tds currently. But definitely tight couplet over bessemer

Bessemer storm has a ton of wind in it, wow. If not a tornado at least a pretty good area of damaging winds coming through SW Bham suburbs
