Wow. This is why I hate these synoptic set-ups that are right on the fence of being classic tornado outbreaks, but a few key details with trough structure/timing, etc end up being off. The vast majority of the time, they turn out to be sloppy snooze-fests. Then the general public is like "HA-HA, dumb weatherman overhyped it again!"
What they don't know is just how close they were to something like the last two days. This event has done literally everything possible to blow through the failure modes and produce significant tornadoes anyway.
