Severe Weather 2023

I'm really surprised at least a small hatched area wasn't included for NE OK. The ingredients are in place for a significant tornado or 2 with any discrete storms that can be maintained in this area.

May have a tornado down, either a debris spike in reflectivity or just hail core, no evidence of a cc drop currently. A second tornado warning was just placed on the same storm. Screenshot_2023-09-23-19-28-02-85_d742e5e24846c0b0ac98c1cecc909937.jpg

MKX had their suspicions something like that might happen yesterday. The low levels were definitely primed, with a little better upper level support for supercells we could have had something rather significant.

Daytime heating will be slightly counteracted by the cloud cover, but may
invigorate some of the shower cells and increase lightning
activity later today, especially for areas at and west of Madison
(where breaks in the cloud cover are appearing on satellite). The
HREF ensemble max SBCAPE struggles to reach 1000-1500 j/kg today
for said areas, so even there, we aren`t really expecting a
serious severe wx day today. That said, 0-3km Shear is present,
and all it would take to get a little 0-3km CAPE to accompany it
is some extra daytime heating.

So bored forecasting dry weather. LOL! This will end up being my 2nd driest September (0.75 inches) since 2019. September 2019 I just measured 0.04 inches.

Just wait…. lol
Yes I know. I've jokingly told my meteorology text group that half of the Fall tornadoes this year will occur within a 25 miles radius of my house if it follows the 2023 tradition. The Amory tornado passed 0.21 miles away from my house, February 16th another tornado passed just 2 miles west of my house (which I accidentally got a picture of on my GoPro 11), and then in June of all things, I had one pass just 6 miles North of my house. I've had others including those in the meteorology text group say that I'm becoming a tornado magnet.

I always say MS/AL are the “Oklahomas of the Deep South“ lol

Well, we all know you've apparently been a tornado magnet since 2011 so take it easy.
