If there was ever a classic example for a significant severe weather/tornado outbreak, it's off today's 12z Euro Operational and Euro Ensemble Control. Basically everything except hurricanes is in the cards for Christmas Week (snow, sleet, freezing rain, blizzard, heavy rain, flooding, tornadoes, large hail, and damaging winds).
Definitely looks gnarly. I'd love to get some snow instead of tornadoes but nature usually doesn't play alongIf there was ever a classic example for a significant severe weather/tornado outbreak, it's off today's 12z Euro Operational and Euro Ensemble Control. Based on the five confirmed and the numbers on NWS Jacksons website:
Obviously that comes with the caveat that there's an inherent bias in that data set because the number of tornadoes that are able to be detected and surveyed is much greater now than it was in the pre-doppler radar era.
I found a very interesting vid showing multiple vortices, multiple or satellite finnels and tornadoes, and more, They didn't specify exactly when or where it was tsken but it seems they mean this year so I'm posting it here
