Severe Threat May 15-16, 2025

Yay for me. Another round chance for severe thunderstorms! I have had at least 4 thunderstorm days this month, and 3 of them as severe days.

(Kinda hard to tell what's there, given the small size of the cell and its long distance from the nearest radar...)

Southern Missouri STP minus 700 mb temps is now at a positive 4.2, so I don't think we can rule out tornadoes in this general area tonight.



that beefy cell in Illinois is in a positive 2.6 environment.



Chicago area is -1 to -2 and Wisconsin is a max of -2 to -3. Just posting to see how things pan out and if this method actually works.

Is it just a RadarOmega issue, or is that TOR-W not showing up? I’m listening to NOAA WR and that’s where I got the info from, but it just hasn’t showed up on my screen yet.

RadarScope seems to have had a glitch when displaying the Minneapolis tornado warning:





Note how the western borders stretch out all the way to the western edge of the RadarScope map…

None of the storms that are warned looks all that impressive to me. The other two are really far from a radar though. Can’t believe there are zero radars in central/western Minnesota.
