High winds with the storms as they moved through here. I assume there will be more trees down. Lots of rain coming down. Flash flooding will soon be an issue I think.

Yeah hearing a lot of flash flooding here in flornence.. heard a woman stuck in a van too while trying to cross some high water

"Governor Robert Bentley declared a State of Emergency for all Alabama counties as a result of severe weather impacting the state."

Per Morgan County Emergency Management:

Tornado confirmed in Mt. Hope, AL...confirmed but not yet touched down.

I know Mt. Hope is in Lawrence County. I happened to be listening to Morgan County, and they are going into emergency mode.

just got my power back from the storm that moved through around 5am. im about 12 miles southwest of downtown birmingham and was at the absolute apex of that squall when it moved through. storm was amazing. no hail at my house, but winds easily topped 70-80mph. storm was tornado warned at the time.

about 5 miles to my east, my parents dealt with the same stuff a few minutes later in the Inverness/Caldwell Mill Road area. They also lost power and report numerous trees down on houses throughout their neighborhood.

When you get probs >95%, that's about as sure a thing as you can get... again, not sure I have EVER seen these kinds of numbers and wording coming from the models and the SPC. I'm in TX on the far west side of yesterday's PDS watch, so I'm praying for all in the deep south today.

I know it's crazy, but if there is ever a time you need to use 60% tornadoes in the High Risk area again, this is it.

I bet they expand it as well. Possibly further east. They will almost definitely go east with the probs after FFC's 12z sounding.
Up to 75 here. DP still 64
Just jumped to 66 per wunderground.

I wouldn't doubt it if parts of Atlanta metro got place under a high risk. Update coming shortly should be interesting.

Do we think they'll expand the High Risk eastward over the Atlanta area today? That FFC sounding is probably the scariest I've EVER seen for FFC.
