so overall, it seems like tuesday wasn't too bad given the number of warnings, it seemed like there was relatively little significant damage. hopefully that pans out wednesday too?

Probable tornado damage has been reported in the Beekman and Oak Ridge areas as of 11:45 p.m. Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service in Jackson, Miss.
Meteorologist Allen Girard said the NWS has been tracking more than one severe storm system in Morehouse Parish tonight and has been in touch with local emergency personnel. Tornado damage has been reported northwest of Beekman and in the southern part of the parish/Oak Ridge vicinity.
Girard said as of 11:45 p.m. a severe storm/tornado system had moved north from the Oak Ridge area and out of the parish, while a second storm with the potential to produce a tornado is currently being tracked by the NWS moving northeast from the Oak Ridge area.
An unconfirmed tornado touchdown has been reported on Rolfe Rd. in Oak Ridge as of 11:57 p.m.
A flash flood warning is in effect until 1:30 a.m.
At 11:25 p.m. the NWS detected a series of severe thunderstorms producing heavy rain from Collinston to Oak Grove with more heavy storms approaching from the west, which will move over extreme southeast Arkansas and portions of northeast Louisiana. The storms were moving at 40 mph. Two to four inches of rain have occurred in the past two hours.

Major flash flooding is occurring over parts of NW MS/SW TN. My parent's home has several feet of water in it, sadly.

Real nice after what's happened here buddy......sounds as though a few areas in my parish got hit hard.and most of Bastrop is without power at this time.....

I don't think he meant any harm and he's also kind of right. Today could have been much worse, but there are some areas that took bad hits. In fact, damage is very widespread after the last two days. Personally, my house at home (I'm in college) has several feel of water in it. Family friends have lost their roof. And for the second time in 3 weeks my dad's farm has major damage. Last time it was the derecho, but this time I believe it was the tornado that destroyed houses in Coahoma continuing into southern Tunica County.
I wish river flooding was more "sexy." It's not very fun to discuss, but it's going to dominate news coverage in several markets soon. Already making some national headlines...
This picture was taken over my school earlier. Everyone's calling it a funnel cloud, but I'm not sure. It's pretty cool either way. The tornado warning seemed to indicate the rotation entering Memphis would have passed a few miles northwest of Rhodes College.

West Monroe opened Convention Center on Ridge Avenue and the Community Center on South Fifth Street as shelters for those in need early Wednesday after a dangerous line of storms crossed northeastern Louisiana late Tuesday, knocking out power to thousands, flooding streets and dropping pea-size hail throughout Ouachita Parish.
A wind gust was clocked at the Monroe Regional Airport at 1:02 a.m. Wednesday of 81 mph.
A large part of northeastern Louisiana was under a flash flood warning early Wednesday. The flash flood warning was in effect until 3:30 a.m. Wednesday for Ouachita Parish. National Weather Service meteorologists reported the rain gauge at Monroe Regional Airport broke Tuesday night, but the last report was that 3.72 inches of rain had fallen, and more was expected.
The weather service also issued a tornado warning for southwestern Caldwell Parish until 2 a.m.
At 1:01 a.m., the weather service detected a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado 10 miles northwest of Montgomery, or six miles east of Natchitoches moving east at 55 mph.
Ouachita Parish remained under a severe thunderstorm warning until 2:15 a.m. At 1:16 a.m., a line of severe thunderstorms was reported capable of producing quarter-size hail and destructive winds in excess of 70 mph. These storms were along a line extending from 18 miles east of Jonesboro to 11 miles northeast of Slagle moving east at 65 mph.
In Monroe, a family in the 1500 block of Dawnview reported water encroaching into the house and needed help getting out. An elderly woman on Auburn Avenue also was asking for help evacuating. A motorist was reported stranded in her vehicle at the Plum Street underpass at South Second Street with water rising.
Authorities said they were receiving several requests for sandbags.
Roderick Worthy with Entergy reported early Wednesday morning that 28,000 customers were without power throughout northeastern Louisiana. Worthy said crews would be dispatched to begin repairs as soon as it was daylight.

If that storm in Monroe County holds together Lamar/Marion will have a warning around 4am IMO.
