Severe WX May 2019 Plains Severe Event

Didn’t take long for those to blow up and start rotating. I’m scared of what will happen when things finally initiate in SW OK.

I know this a little off topic but can you get extremely intense rope EF5 tornadoes on a day like today? I know it would be more likely there going to be wedge EF5 tornadoes.
The 1947 Windsor, ON (which was probably an F5) was a rope for most of its life cycle. The 1990 Plainfield, IL was a rain-wrapped rope or elephant trunk. So there certainly is precedent for an F5/EF5 rope. That being said, it's extremely rare.

The thermal boundary along and north of I-40 in Oklahoma will be an area to pay close attention to. Supercells that form in this area or travel along the boundary will likely encounter atmospheric conditions that are extremely favorable to significant/violent tornadoes.

A lady I used to work with was in Joliet when that occurred, she saw it & said it was a stovepipe shape. It was never recorded nor photographed unfortunately.

That warned storm in western OK is moving right along the boundary.

Yep. That one is about to provide some evidence of what the thermal boundary might be capable of today.

Rotating tiny developing storm moving right towards El Reno, severe warned with tor poss tag

Those storms east of Lubbock are really just moving into the strongest area of ESRH so it wouldn’t be shocking if they really get to spinning here soon.

Those storms west of the OKC metro are concerning too. Supercell composite there is 28 and effective STP is 8.

Supercells trying to initiate all over Western OK. Not sure if it is capping or what, but something keeps preventing these storms from breaking through. But when they do...

Wanted to point out...recent HRRR runs didn't really show hell breaking loose in Oklahoma until closer to 5pm.
