Any update on New Wren or the Chapel Grove area SE of Okolona? I fear the tornado may have directly hit those areas before it plowed into Amory.

I haven't seen anything about them.

According to one Amory firefighter he 'doesn't even know where he is' - whatever happened has clearly left the area unrecognizable...

They can't get anywhere supposedly it's that bad

From the streets being called out on the Amory scanner (related to gas leaks) it seems the tornado was deeper into Amory than it appeared on radar.

Are first responders holding back until the gas gets shut off for the Northside because the leaks are that bad?

I haven't seen anything about them.

Haven't seen reports but from looking at stopped traffic on Google maps, and going back and looking at the location of the TDS I have a suspicion the tornado first went down quite close to or to the east of the Wren Fire Department. In no way is this concrete or confirmed in any way. Just trying to piece things together.

Are first responders holding back until the gas gets shut off for the Northside because the leaks are that bad?

They are probably overwhelmed and have a small department. Mutual Aid is compromised due to damage in other areas of the county. This is where effective ICS training comes into play, along with a functioning EOC.

Listening to the Amory scanner gives me major 04/27 flashbacks. The gas leak smell in Concord was terrible.

They just mentioned 805 Walnut Street and Annabelle Cove. People trapped in a home. My God if it was that deep into Amory then it seems like most of the town was hit.

WAS THAT TORNADO A MILE-WIDE OR A 1/2 MILE-WIDE? I CAN'T TELL BUT IT CERTAINLY LOOKS INTENSE/VIOLENT.

Judging by the field prioritizing of calls on scanner traffic, they aren't working through the EOC.

Hard to know if these entrapment calls deeper into Amory are due to fallen trees or the tornado. The calls I'm hearing the most of are NW -- especially the western appendage which is A - K Avenue.

A positive sign is not really hearing reports of any serious injuries yet.
