Severe WX March 23-25th, 2023

Had a pretty decent CC signature from GWX but from DGX there really wasn't much of a spike, probably not nearly as violent as it was to the SW of town; may have gotten extremely fortunate there

The primary storm has developed its own mini-squall line.

Conversations from earlier today about social vulnerability and severe weather impacts are sadly showing their relevance tonight.
Yeah, Sharkey and Issaquena are both in the bottom 100 counties in the entire US in terms of per capita income. These communities are going to need a lot of help to recover from this.

Been busy so haven’t been able to track much, but is this looking like an event where there was just one monster tornado and a handful of others, or a legit outbreak? Not aware of anything else significant besides the long tracker that hit Rolling Fork, but I’ve been distracted.

It’s picked up the last two hours - but yeah, pretty much. One big one, handful of others

The rolling fork one was about the only one today. It just hit many cities unfortunately

There hasn't been a lot of action outside of the one big storm, so the potential for widespread discrete convection didn't materialize, but obviously it only takes one.

I’ll be interested in the AAR(after action report) on what caused the widespread discrete mode to fail. It’s been a grungy mess since the beginning.
Can we just can it on this already? Widespread discrete mode was already a question mark, but we've had a lot of destruction tonight and this is the furthest thing from a Forecasted Convective Amplification Deficiency.

As bad as things have been tonight, one can only try to imagine how things could've played out had the cells remained discrete instead of becoming a grungy mess. It just goes to show that things could always be worse than they usually end up being.

Find me one indication in my post I said it was even close to a Forecasted Convective Amplification Deficiency? So we aren’t allowed to ask questions now? Over storm mode? What exactly is your overall issue with my post?
