This weekend is also the Shrimp Festival in Gulf Shores and Crusin’ The Coast in Biloxi. I would hate to be the event organizers for both.

Gfs looks to have it at cat 2 approaching landfall
Pretty close to where expected. Starting to get organized vertically as the sun goes down.
18Z Hurricane model runs:
HWRF 18Z - 952 brushing the far SE LA coast, into MS gulf coast.
HMON 957 into Gulf Shores.
HAFS-A&B - sheared to bits, 990s into the same area.
GFS - 970s, straight up into Mobile Bay.

Hopefully Isaias isn’t as bad for the Alabama coast as another I named storm, Ivan.
Maybe a bit of a wacky suggestion. But how about the crimson tide and Georgia play in the Atlanta dome . Lol idk the logistics for that but I hope they figure out something

A lot of the hurricane mesoscale models flipped to a significant landfall on the MS/AL border. HFAS A and B, HMON, and HREF all show ~950mb shortly before landfall.

NHC issuing advisories for TS Isaias. Max intensity forecast 95 kt @ 6z on the 9th.

I just saw that the National Shrimp Festival in Gulf Shores has been cancelled because of Isaias. I'm not sure they've ever had to do that before. They have multiple stages, so I'm sure they want to get that equipment down before the winds pick up.

Recon found that Isaias has deepened significantly to ~991 mb and tightened up LLC quite a bit
