Excellent news!
Oh okay. Yeah, not surprised to see FFC totally whiff on a TDS, it's kind of their thing. It was well to their east.
Just gets worse and worse.
It's a problem that needs to be fixed immediately. It's disturbing watching this happen in their area of responsibility time after time again. One of these days it will result in a huge tragedy.Oh okay. Yeah, not surprised to see FFC totally whiff on a TDS, it's kind of their thing.
They’re terrible about that. Their warning coordinator should be fired at this point. When weather forum geeks do a better job, that signifies a major problem.Oh okay. Yeah, not surprised to see FFC totally whiff on a TDS, it's kind of their thing.
There were multiple unwarned tornadoes that caused fatalities in their WFO during the 2020 Easter Outbreak. Disgraceful. It's a problem that needs to be fixed immediately. Yeah, it's really frustrating when it's been an ongoing problem for this long. The only good news is the area east of the base is basically unpopulated swamp. It's a problem that needs to be fixed immediately. It is also interesting, how they have gone from being overly conservative with their surveys to being overly liberal with them (Newnan '21). If they are going to do that with their surveys, why not do that with their warnings too? They are already terrible at issuing warnings and it would hurt a heck of a lot less if they issued too many warnings then issue far too little and eventually have a strong to even violent unwarned tornado kill people. It's a problem that needs to be fixed immediately. It's disturbing watching this happen in their area of responsibility time after time again. One of these days it will result in a huge tragedy.
I would say put an office in Macon to cover central and south-central Georgia. Take the southern counties from FFC and shave some of the northern counties off of TAE and JAX. Just leave FFC with the northern half of the state, much more manageable. Is part of the problem FFC’s CWA too big? Why not have an NWS office at Warner Robbins to cover South Georgia?
Not for certain without a full survey but it looked like the original meso occluded and it cycled. It happened really quickly though.Do we know for certain that the tornado briefly lifted in TN before touching down again?
Their negligence during that outbreak was shocking. What's it going to take to fix this issue? God forbid it takes a disaster on the level we saw last night. That wouldn't just reflect horribly on FFC, but the NWS as a whole. There were multiple unwarned tornadoes that caused fatalities in their WFO during the 2020 Easter Outbreak. Disgraceful.
