Severe WX April 11th-13th, 2020 Severe Weather Threat

Gravity waves in this case show how volatile the atmosphere is. When an air parcel tries to rise into a stable layer (this case the cap or warm layer in the mid levels) it can't thus it is forced back down. Think of it as an oscillation displacing the air parcels around it.

This is the kind of environment that will be feeding into supercells that get going.

Would love for one of you who are better versed to give us a quick tutorial on how to read the charts here. Or perhaps link something that provides a tutorial. Thanks very much!

Nasty comma head on that storm

Sure is. Now another confirmed tornado south of Shreveport, a little north of Grand Cane.

Regardless of whether we get some good discrete supercells this afternoon, this is what we will be dealing with later this evening.

I’m Approaching Columbus Mississippi to intercept these and follow them back home. Justin Hindman is my Facebook. Will be live streaming through Fb
@Justin Hindman Mind if we pull your stream in on the forum? Stay safe.

I'm afraid we will be dealing with both discrete and embedded supercells....

That MCS looks like the 4/27 morning cluster and seems to be throwing out tornadoes at almost the same rate. Even linear systems can be hellish on days with these absurd parameters...
