2026 Atlantic Hurricane Season

This dude is going to make a run at being Edouard. Models have it headed for the Louisiana/Texas border area by Tuesday.

Some hot water he's sitting over. I'd keep an eye on Edouard. I'd also say he's likely already name-worthy.

I'm not one to believe a GFS 2 weeks away at all, but holy freaking crap what a scenario the 18z just spit out. FL west coast walker - then up into GA and the carolinas to rain out over a few days. Just - no, thank you. A pattern shift would be great, but not this please.

South FL (Keys, Miami, Orlando, crossing into the atlantic) canes show in the timeframe on the 0z and 06z runs. So the GFS is pretty serious about something happening, but still so far out there's no real confidence in any of it of course. It believes the potential is there, which is enough to watch for now.

12Z is later - right up the peninsula then briefly offshore of Savanna and another landfall into the carolinas. Also is later than the previous runs - so there's the very real chance that the GFS is just showing this two weeks out perpetually. :D

Sad that this is best we have to watch - I'm having Atlantic hurricane withdrawals this season.

I, for one, will gladly take a weaker hurricane season than normal right now. These past few years have been insane, and while we have been spoiled with nice looking and relatively undamaging storms like Erin and Humberto, we've also been cursed with Helene, Milton, etc. The ultimate double edged sword.

I will admit, though, it has been very boring. Nothing, not even a nice fish storm to gawk at so far, and we're in peak season. The Pacific has been going nuts though, as expected.

It is guaranteed that we will break the record for latest hurricane, if we get one at all due to the very strong El Niño in place right now
