Word is...Donald Trump is backing off background check legislation after a phone call with Wayne LaPierre of the NRA. The guy seems to lean whichever way the wind blows.

I’ve seen too many politicians such as Alabama’s own Mo Brooks and our president straight up deny the science.

And there are those on the other side who have cooked the books and misrepresented data to further their agenda. That's why it is a political issue, because both play politics with it. Not too mention, that side is as bad at ignoring hard data that doesn't support their claims as those are on the right. It is like every other issue facing us today - we can't have honest discussions.

I definitely agree with you to a certain extent, but I believe we have reached a point now where obvious things are happening.

How about perhaps he is pragmatic ? How about he knows a lot of his base will be really pissed if he did needless and useless legislation ?

What ? Do you deny that for 2 1/2 years the MSM told us Trump had colluded with the Russians to steal the election ? And that you bought into the lie ? What is not true or factual ?
