60% chance of a tornado watch over the next couple of hours.

For those of you in northwest Alabama, northeast Mississippi, and southern middle TN... we will have live cut-ins at the top and bottom of every hour on our 24/7 digital channel once a watch is issued. We will have live non-stop coverage if a tornado warning is issued. In addition to the Baron driven Tennessee Valley Weather App (free in your app store), you can find our digital channel at tnvalleyweather.com

Updrafts in MS/AL starting to break through the cap. 45kft top near Athens AL and 44kft top near Brooksville, MS.
Cap is definitely gone N of Jackson. Big ole’ supercell getting going there.

Been storming here for an hour or so, not very organized cells but might set up some boundaries for later. Cooled down to the mid 60s.

Alabama has gone from not even being in the marginal risk this morning (other than the extreme northwest tip of the state), to almost the entire state being in a marginal risk and most of the northern half of the state being in a slight risk.

For now it doesn’t look too impressive but it’s gonna ride a boundary where the other storms formed, should be interesting to see if it rides it and strengthens
