Anywho, the talk of vehicle damage the other day reminded me of one of the lesser-known violent tors from the 4/3/74 Super Outbreak: the Mannsville, KY F4. Specifically, it reminded me of this car that was mangled and whose engine was found embedded into a tree some distance away:
IIRC, there were three teenagers riding in the car. They saw the tornado coming and bailed, riding it out in a ditch nearby. I don't think any of them were seriously injured. The tornado itself was surprisingly well-documented considering the rural area:
